About Ruth Setton
Ruth Knafo Setton is the author of The Road to Fez and most recently, ZigZag Girl. Her work has received fellowships and prizes from the National Endowment for the Arts, PEN, and Writer’s Digest. Zigzag Girl won the Grand Prize in the ScreenCraft Cinematic Book Competition, First Prize in the Daphne Awards, and was a finalist for the 2026 International Thriller Writers Award for Best Standalone Novel. Her pilot script for a limited series based on ZigZag Girl won First Prize at the 2024 Los Angeles Crime and Horror Film Festival.
A student of magic who has studied with Teller, Jeff McBride, and Eugene Burger, Ruth has been sawed in half and in thirds, and escaped from a regulation straitjacket. She taught creative writing at Lehigh University for twenty years and with Semester at Sea. In her monthly Substack newsletter — RuthSetton.substack.com — she writes about magic, myths, and mystery.

The host of Judith Magazine’s Tell Me More, Sally Wiener Grotta (she/her), is an award-winning writer, photographer, and speaker.
