What a wonderful story Danielle, you have had such amazing experiences all because you went out in the world to find what you were looking for. I worked with your mother in preschool for awhile and never knew her story. Thank you Danielle and thank you Elissa for sharing this.
Danielle, I remember you when you were a child, but of course time passes and I lost contact with your family. I loved reading your story and learning about your success.
Fascinating! Especially the part about Judeo-Arabic. I sing in Yiddish, Hebrew, and Ladino. I can imagine how frustrating it must be for you that so little is known about your family’s language and history.
I enjoyed this very much Danielle. I too was in the army, but your rigorous training was much more difficult for you than myself. The fact you had to take your M16 in the bathroom with you was something else. I also felt some link towards your story as my mom's parents worked and lived in Iran (Persia) for three generations although they were germans working for the government to build the infrastructure. TY so much for sharing this piece to the world ! Elissa as always you bring the story places never one would expect.

Thank you, Montana for your wonderful words!

So nice to hear and I so appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to read my story!
I do remember you and many laugh filled school bus rides home with Moriah. And her glow in the dark braces 😁
Montana, you know everyone. : )
Not only did I work with her mother, her brother was in my class when he was 3 years old.
Montana, you really do know everyone!

I would love to be the one to get Judeo-Arabic recognized at the museum and posted among the other languages listed. Representation is so important.
