These poems are beautiful and melancholy, and eerily pithy for this day. I also agree that any "great joy" that is commanded is not a genuine joy, but an imposing (posing) joy without much true heart in it. True joy is spontaneous, an emotional reaction. Not scheduled and planned.

It is so sad that religion has relegated you to second class citizen, that you see it, and yet accept it, that you allow your husband to prevent you from participating, that he admonishes you for wanting to.
